Doughnuts
Ingredienti
- 3 eggs (or 2 eggs+1 yolk)
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 cup milk
- 3 1/2 cup (to 4 1/2) flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
- deep fat
- powdered sugar
Procedimento
Beat the eggs until thick, then add the sugar and beat until light. Add the melted butter + milk. In 3 cups of flour sift the dry ingredients + add to the liquids. Add enough more flour to make as soft a dough as may be easy handled. Roll out, cut and fry in deep fat, preferably lard, at 340°F (test with a piece of bread - if it fries quickly a golden brown, the fat is hot enough).
Drain on brown paper + shake in a bag containing powdered sugar.
